Hey there! My name is Bruno Cuevas-Zuviría. I am a computational biology researcher, which means that I use computers to understand different aspects of biology, such as the molecular basis of allergy, the epidemiology of plant-viruses, the evolution of proteins, or the origins of life. My key expertise is the usage of molecular models, but I also work with many other tools (e.g. metagenome analysis, mathematical modelling). My research experience allows me to teach advanced college courses in structural computational biology and protein structure. Among my main achievements, I count the methodology for the prediction of electron densities, the creation of the first prebiotic chemistry database, or the prediction of 5k Nitrogenase extant and ancestral structures. In my free time, I love reading non-fiction, fixing old bikes, hiking and writing —which is the reason I decided to come up with a blog.
