The food co-op
This year I put into action a great idea: the food co-op. Are you tired of cooking the same stuff always? Are you tired of cooking every day? Are you tired of eating microwaved food every day? Then this is for you.
The idea is to exchange food with friends and family. Every day, instead of cooking a single portion, you would cook the portions required to feed everyone in the co-op. Then, place everything on equivalent tupper-wares. Finally, wait for your friends to come pick up their food. Next time, you will pick the food from them.
As you can imagine, this requires a routine, as you will be committed to cooking for your peers at least a certain amount of food. It also requires a group of mindful people, as it could not work if someone tried to cheat every time. Finally, the group has to be within walking distance, as it is unlikely that anybody would cross the whole city just to get a container of lentil soup.
Other tips are to buy a large number of high-quality containers, preferably glass-made as they are easier to clean. Having the same containers allows to keep a ledger of the transactions in the group — if you don’t have any container left, you might have done too much for your peers!
